Music – a part of my life. That is truth. A time ago I tried to compose music together with my younger brother and cousin. Crazy time. We were teenagers then. Never mind. We did it for fun. In Poland, in 80’s was not easy to buy good instruments. Many Polish musicians were making their tools by themselves. Sometimes good, sometimes – like sh***. Anyway, all of them were almost happy doing what they like. The beginning of 80’s was a time of protest-songs against Soviet occupation, but mostly against censorship and government’s bad treatment. I am not sure if any British person knows festival Jarocin? Thousands of youngsters, and middle-aged Poles were going to feel a kind of freedom; to test something different (punk rock, rock & roll, underground, heavy metal, but reggae, jazz and many others. I do not know if a film made by a British television spent on it, you ever seen. They were impressed by a Polish band famous in 1985/86 named ‘Aya RL’. They made a clip for them titled ‘Ulice miasta’ (‘A city’s streets’). Whatever. Another good festival was in Warsaw (every year) called ‘Marchewka’ (‘Carrots’). Clan of Xymox, New Model Army. Well, kind of music I honestly like. Music is cosmopolitan, and there was no chance to change young people minds what the Soviet slaves wanted to do…

Muzyka – czesc mojego zycia. To prawda. Jakis czas temu probowalem tworzyc muzyke wraz z mlodszym bratem i kuzynem. Dziki czas. Bylismy mlodzianami. Niewazne. Robilismy to dla zabawy. W Polsce, w latach 80-tych nie bylo latwo kupic dobry sprzet muzyczny. Wielu polskich muzykow robilo je we wlasnym zakresie. Czasem byly to dobre rzeczy, a czasem gown***. Tak, czy inaczej wszyscy byli szczesliwi robiac to, co lubia. Poczatek lat 80-tych to rowniez czas powstawania protest-song’ow skierowanych przeciwko sowieckiej okupacji, lecz przede wszystkim przeciwko wszechobecnej cenzurze i zlemu traktowaniu ludzi przez wladze. Nie jestem pewien, czy ktorykolwiek Brytyjczyk wie cokolwiek o festiwalu w Jarocinie. Tysiace malolatow i osob w srednim wieku wyjezdzalo do Jarocina by poczuc pewna forme wolnosci, by dotknac czegos innego (punk rock, rock & roll, underground, heavy metal, lecz rowniez reagge, jazz i wiele innych). 'Ulice miasta'. Inny dobry festiwal odbywal sie rok rocznie w Warszawie i znany byl pod nazwa ‘Marchewka’. Clan of Xymox, New Model Army. Otoz, takiej muzyki wtedy rzeczywiscie sluchalem. Muzyka jest kosmopolityczna, wiec nie bylo szansy na zmiane punktow widzenia mlodych, do czego zmierzali niewolnicy Sowietow…

Do you really know to which Church do I attend? Perhaps, I surprise you, but I don't attend any Church. However, the Ebionists (not sure is the right English word) 'are' the closest friends of mine.
